LOEL Serves Meals on Wheels

Our kitchen staff prepares fresh, hot, nutritious meals that are delivered daily Monday-Friday to seniors in the Lodi and Greater Lodi area.

In 1976, William Holz began using his own vehicle to deliver meals to 10 local homebound seniors. Monday through Friday volunteers would pick up meals prepared by San Joaquin County and deliver them. In 1978, our current location was purchased increasing our abilities to serve seniors. Overtime, LOEL’s “Meals on Wheels” and In-House lunch programs expanded to serving more than100 meals each day. In 2010, LOEL received grant funding to build our commercial kitchen where we now prepare more than 200 fresh nutritious meals each weekday.
